    A perimeter is easier to inspect if you stop thinking of it as a wall and start thinking of it as four horizontal bands, each with its own failure modes. Ground contact, the first three hundred millimetres above grade, the utility band where services enter, and the roof line. Almost every entry point on a house sits in one of those bands, and each band has a different fix.
